A monumental reference work on Canon Law, translated from the celebrated French dictionary by Abbé Michel André and extensively adapted to Spanish ecclesiastical law by Isidro de la Pastora y Nieto under the supervision of Judas José Romo. Published in Madrid between 1847 and 1848, it became one of the most comprehensive nineteenth-century canon law dictionaries available in Spanish.

Arranged alphabetically, the work covers every major area of canon law, including ecclesiastical jurisdiction, church administration, concordats, marriage law, sacraments, church courts, religious orders, ecclesiastical procedure and the relationship between canon law and civil legislation.
