We no longer go online solely to search for information, communicate, or consume content. We *inhabit* that space. There, we build connections, express emotions, form opinions, participate in public life, and shape our relationship with the world. The network has ceased to be merely a medium we use; it has become a condition of contemporary experience. This book proposes the concept of "inhabiting the network" to understand this transformation from a communication perspective. The aim is neither to celebrate the possibilities of technology nor to denounce a seamless form of domination, but rather to reflect on the tensions arising between the conditions imposed by platforms and interfaces and the ways in which individuals appropriate, interpret, and resist them.
Drawing on Latin American cultural studies, Luis Sujatovich constructs a unique conceptual framework, reformulates cultural consumption as a multidimensional practice, and explores its manifestations in subjectivity, thought, time, politics, and artificial intelligence. Each of these explorations reveals that communicating, consuming, and inhabiting are no longer separate actions, but rather dimensions of a single mode of existence.
*Inhabiting the Network* does not offer a definitive explanation. Instead, it proposes something more essential: concepts for thinking about an experience that is still undergoing transformation.
